What you call a Chimera, history shows us as a recurring mutation of empire. Algeria under the French, Kenya under the British, Belgrade under NATO, each was a rehearsal in domination stitched together by lies, violence, and arrogance. Like all cancers, these constructs feed on others’ lives until they collapse under their own weight. The tragedy is how many they consume before they die. Your words burn through the disguise: the mutation was never natural, never stable, and never destined to survive.
That's exactly it. I think your analysis is spot on. I think there is a biological / evolutionary reality to this that's not just metaphor. As species evolve they are not only the result of their DNA. They are an expression of that DNA.
(Excuse the long-winded response, but I think you might be interested in my take on this. 😏)
This is an epigenetic expression of the species caused by adaptation to its environment. Overtime physical, psychological, and social pressures influence the direction of this adaptation. These are both positive and maladaptive changes.
Epigenetic expressions are very easy to see, when we look at any domesticated species. Which is exactly what has happened to the human species. Most biologists and anthropologists agree that humans are, in fact, a domesticated species. Although, they also seem to all agree, that we're the only self-domesticated species.
With this presumption I completely disagree. I argue that domestication is not possible without a domesticator. This is how it is for every domesticated species. Yet, the scientific consensus is claiming that humans are the exception to the rule.
What I'm saying, is that we no longer resemble Homo Sapiens. So much so, that the classification no longer applys. I came up with, what I thought was a more appropriate classification, Homo Domesticus. As it turned out I was not the first to think of this. I discovered after searching the internet that a professor James C. Scott had already written a book on the subject.
Called: Homo Domesticus- Une histoire profonde des premiers États.
I haven't read it yet, I speak French (badly) but reading a book like this is too much for me. For some reason I can only find a French version of this book. Almost everything else he wrote was in English. Professor James C. Scott was a political scientist and anthropologist, who passed away in 2024.
What I did was to take the classification of Homo Domesticus to its logical conclusion. Adding the counterpart of a domesticator, which I call Homo Dominus. As far as I can tell, I coined that part. 😆
So I agree with what you said, "the mutation was never natural, never stable, and never destined to survive". Although, I would change that a tiny bit.
The mutation was a natural epigenetic adaptation to an unnatural environment. This created the maladapted subspecies of Homo Dominus. As well, its counterpart Homo Domesticus. Unfortunately as you said neither is "destined to survive". Although, Homo Domesticus has a much better chance. I really think we have the possibility of rehabilitation. The possibility to recover our original genetic expression Homo Sapiens.
Homo Dominus although, is doomed. As this is actually the adaptation of a parasitic species. The result of Intraspecific Domination.
"Intraspecific competition" is a term referring to members of the same species in competition for limited resources, territory, etc. Homo Dominus is not simply competitive they are actively dominating. Therefore, the proper term is Intraspecific Domination.
They are a true parasite as well. 100% dependent on their host species. They create nothing, everything they have they have taken. This is why, if Homo Domesticus can break free from domination, Homo Dominus is lost. Their demise might not happen quickly but it would be inevitable. They must adapt or die.
This is what I mean every time I say, "we are the power of the power elite".
I have written about this, and made a few videos, (specifically the one titled, 'The Fracturing of Humanity') which I posted here on Substack and YouTube.
Artfull in its representation of "Israel" as a barren malignancy with its requisite adornments juxtaposed with the soul of the Palestinian people characterized by strength and spiritual refinement.
Very well written Ms. Quazi. I think the metaphor you listed is very apt for the genocidal occupiers. An entity which demonizes and degrades others, which considers them as less than human, and which sees not their stories, struggles or inherent human dignity, but them merely as an obstacle to the acquisition of their land and resources doesn't sound to me like it has a soul at all.
Thank you Aamir. I think "Israel's" lack of soul or human essence is apparent in all it does and in all its peoples' misbegotten behaviours that makes the world sick of them.
you're welcome, and I agree. Each war crime and atrocity it commits daily further exposes its lack of a moral compass or soul, and they only have themselves to blame for people being disgusted by their behavior. Yes, and to add to how messed up things are, they don't seem to have any shame, as they try to belittle and denigrate anyone who calls out their injustices and horrible actions, and double down on their bloodshed.

Agree.
I don’t have any more words. I feel desperate 😭
Beautifully stated❣️
Thank you Sean.
I agree and I know you are right.

Another gem, Sobia!

All true. They are truly barbaric people.
Yes, and these daily war crimes and atrocities and the ongoing genocide are barbaric, brutal and unconscionable as well
