The Myth of “Not Feeling Safe”

In his speech at the Oxford Union debate on the motion “This house believes “Israel” is an apartheid state responsible for genocide”, Mohammed El-Kurd with characteristic searing eloquence, devastated the whole Zionist framework and its disingenuous constructs in one fell swoop with his dazzling ad lib speech.

(In contrast to the Zionists who were constantly fumbling with their notes, we saw how eloquence stems from a true heart and the pain of experience as opposed to the falseness of a divided and malignant soul).

He highlighted how Zionists employ “hypothetical talking points” in order to “justify” real life genocide; their arguments consisting of recycling the same old “colonial talking points” buttressed by appeals to Western liberal identity politics.

For example, the hackneyed line of Arabs wanting to “throw all Jews into the sea” and the frequent excuse: “they want to kill us all”. We can include here other hypotheticals such as the clever distortion of their own Likud Party manifesto statement: “between the Sea and the Jordan there will only be “Israeli” sovereignty” oft-repeated by “Israeli” elected leaders, into an indictment of the logical response of the colonized, “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” - as meaning that “they want to kill all Jews”.

The strongarming and intimidation of ordinary people expressing their disgust at genocide, by the many nefarious bodies existing to exempt the state of “Israel” from any responsibility for its actions, is frightening.

From UKLI (UK Lawyers for “Israel”)– which has recently been exposed on a number of fronts - to the IHRA, from the AJC (American Jewish Committee) to Project Esther, and the literally hundreds of other organizations attempting to suppress pro-Palestinian voices, the time has come where using Jewish identity as a shield against any criticism of Jewish Supremacy and Zionism is becoming recognized for what it is.

Even whilst “Israeli” leaders have proceeded to carry out the ethnic cleansing that they have long salivated over for generations, like a pack of rabid wolves, foaming at the chops with each successive wave of Nakba, getting into a frenzied fever pitch over the mere thought of trapping the civilian population with no food or electricity and killing children who might grow up to be the next generation of Palestinians by scorching them with white phosphorus and manifold other internationally banned weapons – they have continued to play victim.

This supreme victim playing, wrapped in Holocaust rhetoric and sanctioned by their Western sponsors, has always consisted of a smokescreen of hypotheticals, thrown up as a “defence” every time they are confronted with their crimes and with the actions of “Israel”.

Whilst “Israel” commits the worst of crimes, genocide – it’s representatives whinge and complain that the Arabs want to kill them and that they don’t feel safe in the streets of the UK, a blatant melodrama. Notwithstanding, if somebody moved into your neighbourhood, stole your home, killed your family and burned your land – you might feel that way too – the Zionist stance is based exclusively on lies and projections.

Colonial Primacy and Power Play

El-Kurd’s reference to the colonial talking points that constitute Zionist arguments, concluded that: “There is nothing that the Palestinian people can do that will make these people no longer want to exterminate us, because their issue is not with how we exist, but rather, their issue is that we exist at all.”

And herein lies the heart of the problem; the Zionist position is based on constructing retrospective, hypothetical arguments that are designed to justify what they wanted to do all along anyway.

It is what we call, in psychoanalytic parlance, “rationalization”, but it takes place in the public sphere in order to “justify” their actions to the world at large, as having occurred as a retaliation or response. But you can’t retaliate against someone’s perceived motive – especially when it is all in your head.

In fact – those of us that would retaliate with violence against someone’s perceived motive, would be rightly called delusional, for this is how paranoia and pre-emptive attacks work; you attribute a motive to your enemy – in this case the indigenous people who inconveniently occupy the prime land that you are after. And then you attack and kill them for supposedly harbouring murderous motives towards you. It’s the paranoia of the criminal who knows that what they have done is worthy of retribution.

In this way “Israel” creates enemies out of thin air and constructs arguments out of hypotheticals, arguments that can only be accepted and legitimized by those who are already on their side: the colonial powers and racists of society, the Jewish supremacists and upholders of white privilege.

On the other hand, when Palestinians actually are attacked, they have to prove it over and over again because their word is accorded far less legitimacy; they must show graphic evidence and are subjected to the insulting framing of phrases such as “Hamas run ministry statistics” and “disputed figures” by Western media and propagandists.

Why is it, that the burden of proof falls always on the Palestinian, despite graphic visual evidence; whereas the “Israeli’s” and Zionists can concoct lurid tales of beheaded babies that are subsequently debunked and yet still widely circulated by Western media?

This is part of the wider pattern of an institutionalized form of subtle apartheid, where those symbolising white colonial privilege are instantly believed, validated and sanctified, whereas the word of those representing the native or indigenous, is doubted, questioned, put on trial and ultimately picked apart.

It is a colonial power dynamic that establishes the hierarchy of status very clearly: as a Palestinian you have to be “whiter than white” in your conduct and swallow down any feelings of injustice as well as keep proving yourself – a form of humiliation.

The fact is that “Israel” and Zionism trade in hypotheticals and gross generalizations embedded in a matrix of lies and propped up by a framework of colonial savagery. The institutional constructs of power are in a perpetual tilt towards white, Western privilege and this subsumes all those who are their “friends”. “Israel”, painted as the “only democracy in the West” is an epic fail on all fronts; we don’t buy it anymore, it is the end of an era of deception – and their time is up.

Savagery and Civilization

The word “savage” – a loaded word, that allows the supposedly civilized to inflict Armageddon on others, to fully endorsing it publicly and yet to play innocent: “unleash the gates of hell on the civilian population”, “kill all Palestinians – men, women, children”; there are literally hundreds of genocidal statements made by the only democracy in the Middle East.

To be absolutely clear: this did not start on October 7^th and it is not about Netanyahu and his current cabinet; this murderous intent is apparent from the very beginning within “Israel’s” policies, statements and behaviours. They came to Palestine with a plan: this is its final culmination.

For Netanyahu to stand grinning like a malevolent vampire whilst talking of a battle between civilization and barbarism is an assault on our intelligence and powers of discernment, it is an example of an image (his smirking face) starkly at odds with the smokescreen of hyperinflated, false rhetoric being used to try to pull the wool over our eyes.

Employing this kind of colonial rhetoric and disingenuous semantics to fool, is like advertising; these are words that are there to sell and seal a lie, underwritten by their big money sponsors in the West. “Israel” is really good at advertising, at using biased language and the leverage of owning technologies of deception to promote their propaganda.

Google’s $45 million contract with “Netanyahu” to spread pro-“Israeli” propaganda; US Senator Norm Coleman imploring all the social media and tech giants to change the “unfavourable” view of “Israel” in his “Jews are masters of the universe” speech, and the banning of pro-Palestinian content by Instagram, Linkedin, Facebook and others, are all part of the universal push by those in power, to distort the truth and keep ”Israel’s” legitimacy – you know, the one it had before we realized what it is, and has always, been about.

The slow dawning of facts that we can all start to see clearly, now the scales are fallen from our eyes as it were, can be summed up thus: “Israel” is the dark heart of colonialism, recently gone into a paroxysmal hyper fibrillation – a frenzied kill spree, that is like life blood to its expansionist endeavours, but that signifies its own impending demise; but Palestine – it is the true, beating heart of freedom, innocence, honour and justice; what we do in relation to Palestine, defines our morality, shapes our humanity and underscores our claim to justice, for years to come.
